Saw this on a website today.
It does two things:
1) Puts the whole silly “creationism” thing into perspective (as if seeing an “ism” at the end of creation didn’t do that already).
and
2) Makes me want to be a viking.
Look out for me wearing a furry pair of underoos soon.

remind me never to read your posts when i have to pee…that was hilarious.

This is great, I’ve put it on a Viking reinactment grps site. They’ve alreadt got fury pants – fury pants would be a great name for a blog.
Anyway if you want to check out the Vikings, they can be found at:

Hahaha
I love that Viking site!
To not love Vikings would just be silly.

Did tfootitt mean “furry” pants, which are great, but “fury pants” is an even better name for a blog! And very Viking!

you know, Vikings really didn’t have those horns on their helmets. that originated in opera. as in, Pavarotti, except way back in the day.
…misinformed comic artists. sigh.

Not loving Vikings came easy a few hundred years ago. Loving them was quite hard and you probably lost all interest in it after the first try (most of the time)

Oh sure vikings really didn’t have horned helmets, but it’s a cartoon, who cares. Sad thing is the horned helmet is so much associated with vikings that someone drawing a comic would want to use it even knowing it was wrong.
And loving vikings.. Sure those guys who wrote historical notes didn’t like them. They would be the kings and the monks. Guess what? European women did love vikings. Vikings washed themselves once a week, did their hair and used make-up! So much nicer than the local pig-men.

Also, people have this stereotypewd image of Vikings as those who raped, looted and pillaged as they raided other communities. But what people fail to realize is far more than “raids” the Vikings had vast mercantile trade routes that reached from North American, throughout Europe, into the Middle East and North Africa, and as far east as modern day Russia. Far more than being “raiders” they were traders, they coexisted with their neighbors, had trade and cross fostership with them. Russia is so named for the viking tribe the Rus. This is also why the number “one” in Russian is “Odin” for the 1-eyed God. They had a further reach than many of the ancient “empires.” Although I’d never call the Vikings themselves an “Empire” as they wqere more a bunch of independent communities doing their own thing, and sometimes working together.

I find the fact that the Vikings didn’t have an empire to be reassuring, as it would have been much better than an empire.
It would have to have been called a megapire or fjormpire or Odin’s Piss Basin or something equally dread instilling.

Vikings rock!!! yeah, im a viking!!(Seriously tho, im decended from viking blood. weve got records to prove it. i think)

‘Vikings didn’t wear horned helmets’ no, of course not, also probably didn’t rape as often as supposed either, not actually possible in Chainmail. , and you wouldn’t want to stop long enough to take it off with the locals alerted; the Thegn and his men were in all likely-hood already on their way, “just grab the booty and scarper lads!”
